The basic thing every rotation extension claims — and the thing most of them break.
This clip is generated right here in your browser, deliberately shot "wrong" — the content is turned 90° inside a normal landscape frame. Exactly the everyday annoyance.
This is the hard one. The player below is served from mdn.github.io — a
different origin — so nothing on this page can reach inside it. Most rotation extensions
do nothing at all here.
A YouTube <iframe> works exactly the same way, but YouTube
increasingly shows a "confirm you're not a bot" screen inside embeds, which has nothing to
do with the extension — so this block uses a plain CC0 clip that always plays. To try a
real YouTube player, use the watch-page links in block 6; there the video is in the main
frame and needs no extra permission at all.
Two different things share one button, and it's worth knowing which you're getting.
Three copies of the same photo — a real 1200×900 landscape file whose scene was shot sideways. Rotate it and the arrow points up, at its true shape: no stretching, no cropping, nothing to confuse you about the aspect ratio.
On a bare image tab like that one, the popup grows a ⬇ Save image as shown button — rotate it, then download a correctly-rotated copy.
Open any of these in a new tab and try Rotate videos, Pop Out Video, Rotated, and Live Pin. On a watch page the player is in the main frame, so it works without any extra permission.
Which videos work? Any <video> element on a page — YouTube,
Vimeo, Wikimedia, news sites, social feeds, self-hosted clips. Videos inside cross-origin
embeds need the optional site-access permission. Streaming services that use DRM (Netflix,
Disney+ and similar) will rotate on screen, but they deliberately block copying their
picture, so Live Pin shows black for them — that protection is enforced by the browser.

Good evening, and thanks for joining us. Reading from a prompter is mostly about pace — you want the words arriving just slightly before you need them, never after.
The glass in front of the lens reflects the screen back at you, which reverses the text. That is why the feed has to be mirrored before it ever reaches the monitor, and why a normal browser window is useless for the job.
Speed is the other half. Too fast and you chase it; too slow and you drift ahead and start improvising. Nudge it a few pixels per second at a time until the line you are speaking sits comfortably in the middle of the screen.
Practise a full page before the take. If the scroll feels wrong you want to know now, not once the camera is rolling and everyone is waiting on you.
And when you are finished, one key stops everything and puts the page back exactly as it was — no reload, no lost place, nothing left mirrored behind you.
