Two network paths, both disclosed
The recording path never touches a server. Only two features reach the network, and the privacy policy describes both in full:
- After you explicitly start Whisper or AI voiceover, the selected open-source model downloads once from Hugging Face and is cached. Only the model comes down — your audio and text never go up.
- Pro subscription status is checked with ExtensionPay, which processes payment through Stripe. That request carries a random install identifier and your paid/unpaid state, nothing else. Card details are entered only on Stripe's hosted page.
Recording responsibly
Record only material you are authorized to capture, and follow applicable law and website terms. Protected streaming content may appear black, blank, silent, or unavailable. Simple Web Recorder does not attempt to defeat those protections.
