The short version

Simple JLPT Prep has no user account, advertising, analytics SDK, or cross-app tracking. Learning progress, settings, recent lookups, saved words, and photo stickers are stored locally on your device.

Data stored on your device

• JLPT level, lesson and practice progress, answer history, review schedule, and app settings.
• Recent dictionary searches and words that you add to “My Words.”
• Sticker images and labels that you choose to create from a camera or library photo.
• Downloaded dictionary and lesson files used for offline access and content updates.

The app does not upload your learning history, saved words, or sticker library to us. Local data may be included in backups controlled by you and your device provider. Deleting the app removes its local data from the device, subject to those backups.

Camera and photo library

Camera or photo access is optional and used only when you choose to create a vocabulary sticker. On Apple devices, the app uses Apple’s on-device Vision framework. On Android, the app uses the system photo picker and local image processing without requesting broad photo-library access. The selected photo and generated sticker are not uploaded by the app.

Speech

Japanese playback uses the device speech synthesizer: Apple speech synthesis on iPhone and iPad, or Android Text-to-Speech on Android. Simple JLPT Prep does not record your voice and does not send speech text to our server.

Network requests

The app contacts dict.simplelits.com to download reviewed content, dictionary data, and images, and to answer dictionary requests. A lookup request includes the Japanese word or phrase you ask to look up. Like any internet service, the server also receives technical request information needed to respond, such as an IP address and standard request headers. These requests are processed only to provide the requested result and are not retained after the request is served. We do not use them for advertising, cross-app tracking, or user profiling.

Purchases

Simple JLPT Prep offers optional monthly and annual auto-renewing subscriptions and a one-time lifetime purchase. Purchases and subscription management are handled by Apple on iPhone and iPad or by Google Play on Android, under the account and terms of the platform where you purchased. We do not receive your payment-card details. The app uses StoreKit or Google Play Billing to determine whether the current platform account has access to Pro features.

Children

The app is a general-audience educational product and does not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes

We will update this policy and the applicable App Store or Google Play privacy answers before enabling a feature that materially changes these data practices.
